this is the picture on tomorrow’s weather forecast. I cannot remember the last time this picture was on the forecast as it has been cloudy, or mostly cloudy here for weeks. Actually, it’s months now. I am SO excited. I’m going to be outside ALL DAY if it is truly all sun all day. Pics to come if it’s nice. If not, pics of the inside of my down comforter as I pout on the couch instead!

Well, was it sunny?
It can’t have been months…… your New Year’s Eve Day pics look pretty sunny!
Did you get a letter in the mail lately?
Hey!
I just got a letter today! (although I think it may have arrived yesterday). Yay!!!
It was sunny. It was sunny NYE Day. And there is another day I documented on the blog when I was lying in the sun in the sunroom. But I am not trying to overplay this, and I’ve really been paying attention. Since early december those are the only three bright sunny days I can remember. I was trying to look up online an ‘hours of bright sunshine” count but they only have that on a monthly basis for 2011 so far. I’m going to start a journal of it so I’m not lying! I (and the people I’ve talked with about this at work and Rob) agree that it has been the non-sunniest winter in recollection. And it is interesting how it plays on the physical feeling. I feel heavy, tired, grumpy and irritable. And when there is a sunny day (ie: this one I wrote about) i let the sun shine on my face and I can feel the heaviness lift. It’s pretty amazing. Something to be said for those sunlamps people use I guess! I think of those icy cold bright bright winter days I’m used to … I love those days. And I guess it’s just not been cold enough to create that sort of weather phenomenon yet. Not sure if it’s living at this end of the lake in the snowbelt or if it’s just this weird winter we seem to be having all across the country. I am going to go enjoy my letter now!!

I wasn’t questioning your honesty! Just pointing out you’d documented at least one other sunny day in “months”.
It’s been very cloudy here too. Everyone notices when the sun breaks out and we’ve commented that it’s been similar to living in Southern Ontario this winter! Blah! Anyway…. didn’t think you were lying.
heehee … I love how the subtleties of in-person communication are lost in typing. I didn’t think you thought I was lying … just trying to reflect on whether I was exaggerating, as I do that sometimes. (perhaps another characteristic I need to focus fixing) : )
It seems amazing that there could only have been three sunny days. Can you think of/know of a site that documents those types of days. I couldn’t find on. I can’t remember what S Ont winters are like (likely I’ve blocked it out!!) but I can imagine this freezing thawing cycle to be what a slightly warmer climate like S Ont would be like. We are expecting some cold days now, and in the extended forecast there is one sun icon (for the next week) as opposed to the usual 7 cloud icons … so I’m feeling hopeful!!
Missing you my friend … living on the same lake makes you feel close … of course, being the biggest Lake in the world does make the paddle a little arduous. Hugs to the kiddiewinks for me!
